Requirements

NW Straits wanted to refresh their site as it was looking a bit dated and tired. With copious amounts of information to be found, they also desired a bit of reorganization to help visitors get to the information they needed quickly.

Solutions

The NW Straits Commission provides guidance and resources to marine resource committees around the Pacific Northwest in an effort to preserve and rebuild the marine ecosystem. So we stripped this site down to give it a more minimalist look, focusing on the beautiful images of the Pacific Northwest flora and fauna in the scrolling image banner for a pop of color. We simplified the navigation taking it out of dropdowns, thus getting rid of superfluous landing pages and leading visitors to the heart of the site.

As they are a resource on marine conservation, we built them a custom bibliography tool allowing them to disseminate a complete library of materials from projects and meetings with a custom search function as well as a permalink to custom searches to share.
