Did you ever have a logo that was just too small?
Not to be too forward, but it happened to me once. I was handed a task where I needed to scale a logo graphic I got from a company, but they had only supplied a bitmap image of it. So I open up Illustrator and try to trace the image, both with the automatic tracing function and by hand - of which neither have proved worthy when it comes to time vs. quality. Stituations like this seems to happen a lot to me, and that's why I was literally teeming with joy when my co-worker Heather Alvis made me aware of the Stanford University project Vector Magic. Gather, kids, and I'll show you what it does...
Vector Magic takes your image and traces it for you, and the results are pretty astounding. I tried it out with a pretty complex image, and ended up with an excellent vector version of my bitmap logo.
Now THAT'S christmas spirit!
