Lunchbreak: Frog Families

by Marcus Stenbeck 9.November 2007 14:04

Here at Mindfly we enjoys puzzles, and their positive effects on our already agile minds. Come to think of it, Rusty might not be the biggest fan of them. Being presented the puzzle below - as introduced by John Raasch, an enjoyable man you've most certainly talked to if you've ever come in contact with our business - he just shook his head. But it might also be the detrimental effect it has on keeping focus of "more important things."

Nevertheless, if you have a spare moment - being totally random, and picking a completely arbitrary situation - say that your dev server is being a bit cranky... or you're having lunch. Take a shot at the puzzle.

And when you're done with that you could always head over to College Puzzle Challenge. They are serious about puzzles - there are no instructions! (well, they're scarce at least [edit: very scarce at BEST])

Have fun,

Here's a tricky one. You will probably have to ask questions to get to the answer, but all the info is there, really.

There is a room with an open window. There is a cat lying on the floor in front of a fireplace. the cat is dead. How did the cat die?

Ask away everyone.

Is there a fire in the fireplace?

Heather

Yes. Oh, did I mention, I only give "yes" and "no" answers.

Did the cat die from smoking?

Excellent guess, but no.

Was the cat alive before it came into the house?

Is the room with the open window the same one as the fireplace and cat? Did Santa kill the cat?

Heather

Heather said on November 14, 2007 (12:21)...

yes

Heather

wait, I retract that. Yes the cat was alive before and yes the room with the open window is the same room with the cat and fireplace, and no, santa didn't kill it.
