Escape Cord

Description:
Escape Cord is a website designed to encourage people to learn about and use cotton cord to latch crab pots. This client requested that we design a rough-looking site with a grass roots feel to it. Therefore we came up with this "rough cut" design that still provides a simple user interface with big bold headlines and explanatory photographs.

Coastal Training - Washington

Description:
The Coastal Training Program is designed to provide practical, science-based training to professionals who make decisions about coastal management in Washington State. Administered through the Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (a part of the Department of Ecology and NOAA), they are committed to offering courses that are pertinent, useful, and considered to be a high priority to shoreline planners and coastal resource managers. Their site required a custom application to create and announce classes, have students register for them online, and store the information for administrative use.

Pacific Northwest Water Quality Data

Description:
Commercial shellfish growers depend on good water quality data. The more information they have about temperature, chlorophyll levels, salinity, turbidity, and dissolved oxygen, the better decisions they can make about managing their mariculture operations. To address this issue, three National Estuarine Research Reserves (NERR) in Alaska, Washington, and Oregon have partnered with NANOOS on this pilot project to bring real time water quality data to shellfish growers.

Northwest Straits Initiative

Northwest Straits is a business that has a number of different types of visitors. People come to the site looking for information about local meetings and projects the marine conservation initiative is working on. They already had several wonderful photos and they needed to revitalize their old website with a new, cleaner look and simpler navigation.
